We took our camper on a ten day trip to South Dakota in 2005. Our ultimate destination was the Black Hills.
As we headed west on our journey, we stopped to enjoy
the sights along the way.
Our first stop was the
Mitchell Corn Palace.
We stopped there just to say that we did. For
those of you who are unfamiliar with the corn palace,
it's a building covered with a mural composed of corn
and other grains. Hmmmm.... Well, it gets
them on the map...
Our next stop was for two days in the badlands.
While we were there we camped at the
Badlands /White River KOA.
Our activities in the badlands consisted of driving around
and looking at the beautiful scenery and of course we
visited Wall Drug.
When we finally arrived in the black hills, we stayed at
Kemps Kamp. While we
were there, we saw Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument. We also
did a lot of shopping and exploring just to see what there was to see.
The sights included some bighorn sheep and also some
burros that were blocking the road in hopes that they
would get a free meal.
